Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s sprawling capital in the highlands bordering the Great Rift Valley, is the country’s commercial and cultural hub. Its National Museum with exhibits of Ethiopian art, traditional crafts, prehistoric fossils, the Holy Trinity Church, tombs of Hailie Selassie, the marvellous panoramas from Mount Entot and the open-air markets makes this city one of the most interesting film locations on the East Coast of Africa.
Hoodlum Film Fixers in Ethiopia is excited to offer a full spectrum production service from its “on ground” operation in Addis.
Journalist Visas are required for all international production crew wishing to film on location in Ethiopia and needs to be applied for in person. If there is no Ethiopian Embassy or consulate in the country of origin, then international production film crew will need to apply for a Visa on Arrival.
During the visa application process, all equipment lists intended for temporary import into the region should be provided to the respective embassies so that they can send it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ethiopia for approval by the Broadcast authority. The Broadcast authority upon approval, notifies the Airport customs to check all the film equipment upon arrival and departure from Ethiopia.
Our local fixers will share articles on some of the film locations over the next few weeks which can be accessed in the news section on our website https://hoodlum.tv/news/
