Uganda requires Press Accreditation in the form of Media Cards for each international film crew at a cost of $175 for a period shorter than 30 days. The film permit applications are done by local films fixers and issued by The Uganda Media Council.
Kampala has a small amount of film equipment for hire, but it is advisable to bring in the equipment from abroad or South Africa. The cost of this is 10% of the value of equipment and is non-refundable.
Electronic visas can be obtained as soon as you land at Entebbe International Airport provided your passport is valid. A tourist visa is used for a short shoot. Visa on arrival costs between 70-100 USD and no invitation letters are needed. You will need to travel with your Yellow Fever card
