“Kampala is Uganda’s national and commercial capital bordering Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. Hills covered with red-tile villas and trees surround an urban centre of contemporary skyscrapers. In this downtown area, the Uganda Museum explores the country’s tribal heritage through an extensive collection of artefacts. On nearby Mengo Hill is Lubiri Palace, the former seat of the Buganda Kingdom.”

Uganda requires Press Accreditation in the form of Media Cards for each international film crew at a cost of $175 for a period shorter than 30 days. The film permit applications are done by local films fixers and issued by The Uganda Media Council.

Kampala has a small amount of film equipment for hire, but it is advisable to bring in the equipment from abroad or South Africa. The cost of this is 10% of the value of equipment and is non-refundable.

Electronic visas can be obtained as soon as you land at Entebbe International Airport provided your passport is valid. A tourist visa is used for a short shoot.  Visa on arrival costs between 70-100 USD and no invitation letters are needed. You will need to travel with your Yellow Fever card
