Morocco is a choice location for international filming and offers the world’s most sort after desert settings. It is situated in North West Africa and is bordered by Algeria and Mauritania.
The local Moroccan film crew and film fixers are experienced and well versed in big-budget filmmaking.
Film production on Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible & Rogue Nation were 2 high-profile movies most recently filmed in Morocco. Location scouts worked long and hard for film permits to close part of the Casablanca – Agadir highway for key action sequences involving car and motorcycle chases.
Morocco also stood in as the ideal film location for Afghanistan in Todd Phillips’s War Dogs.
The BBC have been a regular visitor for Television series such as Atlantis and biblical dramas such as The Ark, Political miniseries, The Honourable Woman decided on Morocco their shoot location when Jordan became a security risk during their specific shoot window. American TV shows have included Tut, set during the short reign of the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun.
Morocco’s line producers face international competition from film locations in Malta, Croatia and the United Arab Emirates, but luckily it’s an already established favourite for many International film production companies.
